Icelandic reading · schools

From any Icelandic text to a full lesson in twenty minutes.

Narrated sentence by sentence, every word carrying its dictionary form, and exercises drawn from the text itself — nothing a teacher has not approved reaches a student.

Five steps

  1. The words

Every word the text will ask of you, and what it means.

  2. Saying them

The smallest thing you can say with each word.

  3. Short sentences

Fill the gap where the sentence is small.

  4. The book's sentences

The same gap, at the length the author wrote.

  5. Whole sentences

Write down what you hear, and put a paragraph back in the order it was written.

  6. The text

Read it, hear it, and see whether it makes sense.
